Rules

Signups close: Friday 2nd July at 15:00 - if you're not on tournament system at that time, you're not in.
Gathering in #FT-briefing channel: Friday 2nd July, from 15:45
Matches start from 16:00 - they can be played over the weekend as brackets are confirmed, but final must be completed by 1pm on Sunday.

Please note that if you are participating in an esports tournament you cannot take part in a fun tournament. If you have been eliminated, you may be able to join in - please check with reech or a member of the esports admin team before you sign up!

The game will take place on PC.  The game is free, so there is no need for remote play; please make sure game is downloaded and patched ahead of start time.  Jump in and do some practice games to be sure you know the rules, and have got through any tutorial segments BEFORE THE EVENT START!

The free play model allows access to a range of legends.

There are benefits to experienced players levelling up characters (this opens up stances, which allow modification of the Legends stats).  For the purpose of the fun tournament, all player must play in BASE STANCE – however, there is a modification to this rule if agreed between two experienced players (see below)

Overall Flow of Play

Games will be played as best of 5 in a stock format.

We will schedule the matches so they can take place one after the other at the start time.  If this clashes with any other scheduled EPIC.LAN games that people are participating in (with the exclusion of esports tournaments) then the two players can agree to play later.

Rounds will be bracketed down as per previous EPIC.LAN fun tournaments to provide a final match up.

No seeding or handicap applies to the players; they will be matched randomly by the admins.

All matches MUST be completed by midday on Sunday 4th July.

Joining a Game

The Lobby-creating player can share the game room number with their opponent, or friend them on Steam and invite them to play.

You can then select your Legend, looks, and stance.

For the purposes of this fun tournament, all players must use BASE STANCE.

(NB: In the event that two experienced players are fighting, they can choose to state that they both understand stance-play and will chooses stances, however this must be only if both players agree, and confirmed by an admin.  This is a fun tournament and first time we’re playing, so it needs to be as accessible as possible to all – but future events may change this rule.)

Playing a Game

Games should be played as soon as possible when both players are ready.

Players can choose to stream the games to Discord so others can watch.

The players will compete to a best of 5 games.

Results of your matches should be placed in the #ft-brawlhalla channel in the following format: players, round scores, winner (i.e. reech > Reech 2 , CyberDrac 3 – CyberDrac Wins)

The admin will tick to confirm scores are recorded, and will announce next bracketed game when filled.

Errors and restarts.

In the event of network errors, the game can be replayed on the request of both players, providing the admin agrees.  The admins discretion on manipulation of this rule is absolute if they believe a restart is done in bad faith. But we’re nice, fun people here, right?
